Mysore Pak is a sweet dish which is soft and melts in you mouth.
And its absolutely perfect for an occasion like Diwali.
- INGREDIENTS:
- Besan/Chana dal/Gram Flour 1 Cup
- Oil 1 Cup
- Ghee 1 Cup
- Sugar 1 3/4 Cup
- Water 1/2 Cup
INSTRUCTION:
1. Take a saucepan, and add water and sugar to it. Stir and let it boil to make the sugar syrup. Boil until 1 string consistency (that is if you take a little bit of the sugar syrup between 2 of your fingers.)
2.Add oil and ghee to the pan and heat it on medium flame , and keep it aside for later
3. Reduce the flame to low and add the besan flour to the syrup, keep stirring until its fully mixed with the sugar syrup without any lumps.( tip: I used a whisk for easy mixing)
4. Then add the above hot ghee and oil mixture to the besan flour slowly like 2-3 tbsp at a time and stir it continuously till the ghee mixes and again add 2-3 tbsp and repeat the same process until you finish the ghee and oil mixture. Consistency should be frothy and there would be a pleasant aroma with ghee smell.
5. Pour the mixture into a greased pan or tray and level it with a spatula. Let it cool a little and then cut the pieces of mysore pak into squares or desired shape. Let it cool down in room temperature.
6. Seperate the sqaures when completely cooled into a tray or a plate.
Note:
- You can use only ghee and not oil.
- If you cut down in your ghee quantity the mysore pak will not be as soft to melt in your mouth.
Hope you try it and like it and do comment your views.
